Bodytrouble
Up again the third time now tonight, I'm sickened by this fight
Head against the body, body only wants to sleep
And have a dream to keep when it wakes up in the morning
Head says no it's time to sit and think, so pour another drink
And light another cigarette, it might just be your last
So take another blast you're paying for the warning
And I wonder where you are when you are sleeping
And I wonder where you are when you are miles away
Yes I wonder where you are when you are sleeping
And I wonder where you are when you are miles away from everything I know
I'm fighting hard against my body clock, it's telling me I'm crocked
It pulls me to my feet and drags me over to the bed
And thrusts my shouting head underneath the covers
I'm no child I'll stay up if I want the head throws back the taunt
But body holds a mother's hand reminding silly head
You'll miss me when I'm dead just like all the others
And I wonder…
Up again the head it steals away but in bed body stays
As the head away in dreams pursues a passage of its own
Bringing baby home, clinging to the freedom
But freedom has a price that I must pay and head you must obey
Though your other body's miles away you simply have to wait
For another twist of fate to bridge the distance in between us
And I wonder…
