She
On a round-trip to the not so long ago
I stumbled on the fork back then I couldn't know
Would lead me to the verge of unexpected bliss
And leave me standing there just wondering what I'd missed
A simple thought anybody could have traced
It brought me back here in the first place
To find out why after all the ups and downs
She hasn't murdered me and I've still stuck around
Despite the choice I had of someone else instead
It's pretty clear whose heart I have inside my head
'Cause
She holds out her hands when I'm the one who's treading water
She just understands that at times like this I can't go
Any further
Looking back along the path behind me now
I see the holes and cracks and I have to wonder how
With my unsteady feet I made it quite this far
Up ahead still waiting for me Jesus how bizzare
Despite the choice I had of someone else instead
It's pretty clear whose heart I have inside my head
'Cause
She holds out her hands when I'm the one who's treading water
She just understands that at times like this I can't go
Any further
She holds…
